Gue baru - baru ini dengerin EP Dogs Eating Dogs nya blink-182 , dan menemukan lagu Boxing Day. Lagu ini agak lebih "tenang" dibanding lagu - lagu mereka lainnya,karena akustik dan drum nya Om Travis nggak jedak jeduk gitu disini.
Lagunya sih kayak perpisahan dan ditinggal gitu sih, gue nggak terlalu memusingkan lirik - lirik dari band ini soalnya mereka kalau bikin lirik kan ngaco ngaco ngahahahaha
Dan dari segala ngaco lirik mereka, satu baris lirik di lagu ini memikat gue.

"I'm empty like the day after Christmas"

Gue ngebayangin suasana "the day after Christmas" itu gimana. Gue ngebayangin sesuatu yang senyap, sunyi tiba tiba karena euforia udah abis. Sama kayak abis lebaran di rumah gue, abis solat Ied dan makan lontong terus semuanya balik kayak biasa. Atau sesimpel kesenyapan setelah lo muter lagu keras keras terus lo matiin. Senyap, awkward, aneh.
Kalau maksud dia "I'm empty like the day after Christmas" itu karena dia abis ditinggal sama seseorang, well, gue suka sekali cara dia menggambarkan kesenyapan, kesunyian, kesepian dia.
